Columbia MD, August 06, 2009 — Prism Microsystems announced today that its free log search software, EventTracker PULSE, has logged over 10,000 unique downloads in 6 months. Launched in February 2009, EventTracker PULSE automates the real-time collection and long-term archival of all log data from Windows and Syslog devices, and helps system administrators search through gigabytes of this data to quickly pinpoint critical data to troubleshoot IT issues, investigate security incidents and conduct forensic analysis.

Available as a free download from http://pulse.prismmicrosys.com, EventTracker PULSE is a complete log search solution with no limitation on number of devices, log volume or retention time. It supports a wide variety of sources including Windows, Unix/Linux, CISCO and syslog devices, and even monitors workstations to help identify and investigate insider theft incidents. Our aim with EventTracker PULSE is to make log data accessible and useful to a wider audience, and to help them harvest many of the benefits of a complete Log Management system at zero cost,” said Steve Lafferty, VP of Marketing, Prism Microsystems.

Since its launch, EventTracker PULSE has received a number of accolades from the IT community including a write-up by Andrew Hay in Information Week Magazine that praises PULSE’s easy to use search interface, centralized agent management capabilities, and simple deployment. Randy Franklin Smith highlights the software as “a free log consolidation and search tool that actually works”, and both Network World and Windows IT Pro draw attention to its…
